The Zamioculcas, also known as the ZZ plant or Emerald Palm, is an extremely easy houseplant. It originates from Tanzania, where it’s adapted to periods of drought followed by heavy rainfall. The Emerald Palm stores water in its thick stems and roots, allowing it to go long periods without watering. Forgetting to water it occasionally is no problem. Its low maintenance and sleek appearance make the Emerald Palm a very popular indoor plant. It has glossy, feather-shaped leaves and long stems, fitting perfectly in both classic and modern interiors.
The Emerald palm prefers a spot in semi-shade, without direct sunlight. Water the plant regularly, but make sure that no excess water remains in the pot/dish. This can actually cause root rot. The ideal temperature for this plant is 18-22 ºC.
