The Latin name of the Chinese lantern plant is Ceropegia Woodii. However, its nickname is 'String of Hearts' which you'll understand as soon as you see the plants. Its leaves look like little hearts on the strands of the plant. But where does the name Chinese lantern plant come from? This special hanging plant can flower, and as soon as it does, little flowers appear that look like Chinese lanterns. A very special, but above all very beautiful hanging plant.

The Ceropegia Woodii is extremely easy to care for. He belongs to the succulent family. This means that it has special roots to store water. As a result, you hardly need to water it. In spring and summer you can give it a little splash every week, in winter a splash once every two or three weeks is enough. Do not water it until the soil has dried out completely. The location of the Chinese lantern plant is not complicated, it is happiest in a place with lots of daylight. However, Ceropegia woodii also survives well in the dark. Furthermore, the Ceropegia is non-toxic. Eventually, the little plant can grow strands over a meter long!
