Sansevieria's are originally from Africa and are one of the easiest houseplants to care for. The plant is also called 'Mother-In-Laws Tongue'. With its beautiful upward thickened leaves, the Sansevieria is a true masterpiece to see. The plant is characterized by its green with yellow-striped leaves. It is an ideal houseplant for people without green fingers. The Sansevieria is air-purifying and improves the humidity in a room.
Sansevierias like a bright location with full sun to partial shade and require little water. The 'only way' to get a Sansevieria dead is to give the plant too much water. It is important that all soil is thoroughly dried before you water the plant again, otherwise there is a chance of root rot. In winter, the plant can safely go 6 to 8 weeks without water. During the growth period (spring and summer), watering once every 2 weeks is sufficient. The plant does well in both dark and light locations.
