The Plumeria Hawaiien is a tropical plant that could grow flowers with a strong and delicious scent. The Plumeria is also called Frangipani, referring to a 16th century marquis called Franchipani. He was the Italian inventor of perfume, using the scent of the Plumeria. Even since his invention, the smell of the plant is still used very often in the perfume industry. The original Plumeria can be seen all around the world in all tropical regions. In several countries, the plant has diverse definitions. For example, in Hawaii, women wear the flower behind their ears, right ear when they are looking for a man and left if they are ‘taken’. The plant produces white or pink flowers, but due to its young age, the color cannot yet be determined.

The Plumeria likes a light location with direct sunlight. The plant needs very little water and it is important that the soil dries before re-watering. It is advisable to fertilize the plant in the spring. Furthermore, the Plumeria is a rather sensitive plant that can quickly develop yellow leaves. Also, be careful because the Plumeria is poisonous.
