Cacti are very popular in living rooms around the world and are especially known as easy plants that require little attention. However, be careful with the spines – they can be very sharp. The cactus family is large and diverse, and officially belongs to the succulents. Cacti are mainly found in warm and dry regions. They are well adapted to these conditions: they store moisture, meaning they need very little water. The cactus is a very easy plant. It can go a very long time without water. In terms of placement, the cactus is also very flexible: it can be in a bright spot, but it will also do perfectly well in a shaded place. In winter, a cactus can go up to twelve weeks without water. In summer, you should water the cactus more often, but never too much at once.
