The Tillandsia is a family of the Bromeliads and has more than 400 species. It is one of the most instagrammed plants at the moment! The name comes from the Swedish botanist Elia Tillands, who hated water, just like the Tillandsia. The plants originate from the forests, deserts and mountains of South and Central America. Almost all Tillandsia are epiphytes, which means that they have no or hardly any roots but they grow on trees or rocks. Water and nutrients are absorbed from the air by the scales on the leaves, therefore, the Tillandsias are also often called air plants.
When the Tillandsia is in a living room or office, they only need to be sprayed with water occasionally. In damp rooms, such as a bathroom or kitchen, the Tillandsia grows on its own. With a little love and moist air, you'll bring a beautiful piece of nature into your home. The possibilities with air plants are endless, and they are often used for creative purposes. Different varieties of Tillandsia are mixed in a set of 3, so you will receive at least 3 different varieties.
