High summer is here, with holidays looming and gorgeous fashion to go with it (or us, rather) as we pack our bags and head for many a stylish destination.

Not sure what to pack to go where? In this section I'll take you through my own highlights for summer fashion, taking you on a journey that begins on a wild note and ends in paradise.

When it comes to summer, the annual burst of bold and beautiful fashion is always one of my favourite things; take note of the fabulous statement prints popping up across the high street and it's easy to see why.

While the classic LBD may work well in winter, I'm always dreaming of the warmer months when it's all about the flowing technicolour maxi, vivid cropped trousers and dazzling printed prom dresses. Love the look? My pick of the prettiest will make your dreams come true.

As a lady who loves shoes (who doesn't?) our range of new season sandals has most definitely stopped me in my tracks. Coveted must-haves are the embellished flip-flops and gladiator-inspired heels, but neon is receiving an excitable nod from me too.

The biggest surprise of the season is fashion's love affair with the 'ugly flat'. Well, they do say there's beauty in everything...

It's swimwear made simple. We've even picked out a celeb comparison for each shape. Take it from us, it's hard to hate your body when you realise it looks like Beyoncé's.

Sporting the best of both worlds, apples are curvy in the hips and thighs, yet small on top - often showcasing slim arms and legs.

  • Opt for a bikini with detail on the bust - this will focus attention away from other areas.
  • Tankinis are a good choice for those who wish to hide their stomach.
  • If you feel most comfortable with more coverage, fold over bikini bottoms do a fabulous jobs of hiding hips and stomach.
  • A one-piece is a great way to add proportion to curves.

Sexy pears tend to carry more weight around the lower half of the body on the hips, thighs and bum, with narrow shoulders and a smaller bust.

  • Try an uplifting bikini to draw attention away from the lower half and up toward the chest.
  • Low cut briefs will also draw attention upwards.
  • Swimsuits made from control fabrics, with drapes or ruching in the design, will help to achieve a slimmer look by adding support and hiding problem areas.
  • Sarongs are the perfect cover up for pears thanks to their versatility - tie it where you like to hide whatever you don't.

The most enviable of figures, the hourglass lady is beautifully feminine with a small, well defined waist and equally proportioned shoulders, bust and hips.

  • Matching bikini sets will highlight the equal widths of your top and bottom halves.
  • Underwired styles will offer more support, as well as beautifully enhance your shape.
  • A low halter style will show off cleavage, whilst ruching around the middle will emphasise your small waist.
  • A jersey wrap dress will also serve to accentuate your waist and bust, as will a kaftan if tied at the waist.

Showcasing a fabulous, somewhat athletic take on sexy, triangles are wider on the shoulders and torso, narrower on the hips.

  • Look for bikini bottoms with side tie - such detail will help to add curves.
  • Opt for sweetheart necklines to take the focus away from your shoulders.
  • Look for swimsuits with hidden support, such as under wiring.
  • Trousers are a great cover up for triangles as they enhance the lower part of the body, around the hip area, taking emphasis away from your chest.

The rectangle's figure tends to be well balanced but straight up and down, a look that's sporty and sleek.

  • Create the illusion of curves with padded tops, preferably patterned.
  • Kaftans with vertical prints, cinched in at the waist, are also a clever option for creating a flatting shape.
  • Select pants with details such as ties on the side - the more detail, the bigger the illusion.
  • Opt for frills on the hips to enhance your waist.

Avoid getting caught out by the powerful rays this summer. Get sun protected with a selection of sun creams and make up with SPF's to safeguard your skin.

UV radiation is one of the main factors that causes the skin to age. Melanocytes - melanin-producing cells - begin to burn out when you reach your late thirties and forties, making it more difficult for your skin to fight sun damage.

Everyday living also exposes your skin to a variety of pollutants and free radicals so here's my top picks for the face and body.

Look out for products with anti-aging ingredients.

A powerful skincare saviour that combines Idebenone and Thiotaine to deliver a high level of protection against the sun's harmful rays while helping to prevent future aging signs.

A specialist sun protector and anti-ager for the face exposed to intense sunlight . Protects deepdown, hydrates and performs brilliantly even under make up.

Prevent premature skin ageing with Liquid Layer, the ultimate weapon against UVA and UVB rays, pollution and free radical damage. The water resistant, weightless formulation feels incredibly comfortable on the skin and provides immediate invisible coverage.

Salt and sun dry out your skin, so it needs to be rehydrated as soon as possible. Take a cold shower and moisturise at the first opportunity.

For instant soothing, try this after sun spray from Nivea sun. It is made with aloe vera, which helps repair skin damage by restoring lost moisture, as well as giving a cooling sensation to calm and soothe.

Clinique's ultra-moisturizing balm with soothing aloe calms sun-exposed skin, provides post-sun repair and helps to minimize peeling.

For added skin protection apply an SPF moisturiser under your SPF Foundation.

Foundations aren't just about covering up, creating a flawless canvas or making your skintone appear more even. They now play an important role in protecting the skin from everyday pollution and the sun's harmful rays. One of the most popular foundations for this is bareMinerals Original SPF 15.

An ultra-sensorial texture, bursting with made-to-measure perfecting skin care ingredients that melt into the skin for an flawless finish which lasts all day long. The foundation blends seamlessly with the skin for a smoother, more even complexion day after day.

Uses translucent pigments to enable a fully personalised finish influenced by the subtleties of your own skin's undertone. Provides a moisturising demi-matte finish with medium buildable coverage and contains fine line-reducing soft-focus powders.

Use a concealer under your tinted moisturiser to diminish dark circles and hide imperfections.

You might want to think about using tinted moisturisers during the warmer months. Packed with powerful properties tinted moisturisers protect the skin whilst leaving a radiant and natural finish. Here's a rundown of my favourites.

Vitamins C and E protect skin from free radical damage, while SPF 15 helps prevent sun damage.

An instant moisture boosting formula with SPF protection and a hint of skin-perfecting colour. The refreshingly lightweight texture provides a no-makeup look and feel, yet covers imperfections with a natural, hydrating touch.

Apply sunscreen as often as you can to stay well protected.

A super-portable SPF30 Natural Sunscreen with a sheer and weightless formula that can be used from head to toe without clogging pores.

This summer give yourself a beautiful sun-kissed natural makeover with delicious cocoa-toned shades mixed with a touch of gold shimmer as seen on the catwalk shows of Christian Dior, Dries Van Noten, Donna Karan and House of Holland.

Define and sculpt your features by applying bronzer to the cheeks, temples and chin and golden metallic eyeshadow to the lids and even the brows for that extra glam factor. This look is so hot you'll sizzle this season.

Use on the middle of your forehead, the bridge of your nose, the point of your chin and above your cheekbones to sculpt and highlight.

A duo of fine powders, Miel and Cannelle, to dab on certain points on the face for a sun-kissed, radiant glow.

This ultimate bronzing powder compact features four fabulous matte shades so you can sculpt your complexion. Dust across the cheekbones and temples for a warm and radiant finish.

Layer with the matte shadows (Pale Cream and Soft Buff), then apply Pink Bellini. Deepen the eye crease with Earth, then apply the darkest color (Rich Caviar) along the lash line for beautiful definition.

Turn up the heat with fun, flirty fashion and laid-back summer cool. With a wardrobe so colourful, your future will be bright.

Go for high glamour with city chic from a bygone age; think Gregory Peck courting Audrey Hepburn in 1950's classic movie 'Roman Holiday'.

If there's ever a time that the differences between men and women are at their most apparent, packing for a summer holiday is surely it.

Where women tend to prefer to take everything but the kitchen sink, men tend to... how shall we say it? Throw it all in a bag and hope for the best?

It doesn't have to be this way. Our packing-made-easy guide for guys details nine simple essentials - allowing him to get more out of a case than Sherlock Holmes.

A cool, short-sleeved shirt is easily multi-wearable, with one day's disregarded item always on hand to be next day's treasure; wear for a smart outing one day or eve, slip on with shorts for lounging around the next.

Perfect with a t-shirt for day, just add a stylish belt if you feel the need to smarten it up. For evening, slip on one of the shirts for summer nights sorted.

How many exactly is at the discretion of the person packing the case, after all, they don't take up much room.

For styling suggestions, see no.1 - same rules apply.

It won't take many to help make a splash - just remember to wash them out in the shower at night. Hang across the balcony to dry - if only life were this simple in England.

Only a couple of pairs at the very most. Roll up the legs during the day and wear with boat shoes or flip flops. As before, come evening simply match with a short-sleeved shirt.

Slip on for the beach during the day, wash off any sand and match with smart trousers for night - the ultimate look for the laid back gent.

Don't forget the all-important beach towel - a must for snoozing by the pool or on the beach. Isn't that why we go on holiday?

Save on space with a 'grooming essentials' travel pack. Remember to make sure it fits within your airline's security procedures and place in a plastic bag - if your shirts are covered in suncream during the inbound flight that'll be it for no.'s 2 and 5.

The ultimate must-haves. Look cool and stay in the shade with stylish sunnies and a face protecting hat - the lobster look is never attractive. Both dual purpose purchases, a hat and sunglasses are your go-to garments the morning after the night before.

It's prom season; time for mums to shop 'til they drop, daughters to get their gladrags on and, together, take a few pictures for the family album.

But what is prom? Until recently this particular summer moment was up there alongside cheerleaders, baseball and Thanksgiving - an American tradition. Not anymore. Here we take a look at what makes prom fabulous - and why we Brits have finally joined the party.

So. Prom.
What 's it all about?

Short for promenade, across the pond prom is a formal dance for high-school students. Traditionally a 'coming of age' of sorts for seniors about to leave for college, prom is a time for students to celebrate their achievements in school and look forward to the future. Now, we're starting to realise where the party's at.

So why is prom
so important ?

It's just a night out with friends, right? Wrong. Popular culture has created a status for prom that supersedes anything else before it in a young person's life. Let's look at the evidence?

In Twilight, prom is the pinnacle of the movie and, as such, is the moment when Bella declares to Edward she is willing to forsake mortality for eternal life with him. In Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan's redemption is complete the moment she's crowned Prom Queen and, in 10 Things I Hate About You, prom is the moment that the truth finally comes out.

When she attends prom, a girl expects to look so amazing she's guaranteed to win the boy of her dreams - as seen in classic 80's movie Pretty in Pink. When a girl attends prom, she expects to find Usher on the decks, prompting her classmates to dance in unison - as seen in She's All That. But, popular culture aside, what she really expects is her very own Cinderella moment. In this case, we're more than happy to play the part of the Fairy Godmother.

Dress to impress...

If it's princess attire you're looking for, the No.1 by Jenny Packham range is certainly fit for royalty. Designed by one of the Duchess of Cambridge's most called-upon designers, we're talking about a designer who knows just the right amount of sparkle to make a gal the belle of any ball.

Love all things bling?

Julien Macdonald is your go-to guy, with both his Star and Diamond ranges full of fabulous gowns designed to make an impact. Or, for something a little less bling, a little more classic, the Debut range presents a series of dresses in delicate, flowing fabrics, in a stylish assortment of lengths and colours.

And that's just it - the beauty of prom. It's so new to us in Britain, that there really are no rules. No dress code, no restrictions. Sure, attendees are

expected to up the ante, but the dress code is really up to interpretation. Go full length and fabulous, go mad with the sequins or simply be short and sweet.

Just don't forget to add a few statement accessories. From high heels to shiny bangles, chandelier earrings to the chicest of clutches - it's all about eye-catching accessories. And we don't mean the obligatory date for the dance.

You've bought the outfit for your fabulous summer moment, but are you prepared to wear it with style?

As with anything, getting the foundations right is so important - but are you aware of how big a difference your smalls can make? The correct fitting bra can make you look slimmer, improve posture and even help clothes fit better. So, the fact is, unless you're wearing the correct size, your fabulous summer outfit... may not make a fabulous impact. The simple solution? An expert bra fit.

With research suggesting that the majority of women wear the wrong bra size, I popped into store for a bra fitting. Undercover, of course...

When it comes to building great style, a perfect fit is vital. As a woman I admit that I love clothes - I love scouring fashion magazines, sourcing new looks and splurging my monthly salary on new items for my wardrobe. As a clothing fanatic I wouldn't dream of buying a dress too big or trousers too small. With this in mind, imagine my shock to have discovered, courtesy of my session with one of our bra fitting experts, that I've been wearing the wrong sized bra... for years.

How on earth did I manage to do that? Sure, from time to time a bra may have pinched a little, the cups may have had room to store my mobile phone and once, or twice, a bra has been known to leave sore marks underneath my arms - but I've always worn 34B, ever since the last time I was measured. What else could I be?

Well, as it turns out, a 32C, according to the lovely lady who assessed my measurements during my undercover investigation at the Oxford Street store. Wishing to experience a bra fitting as a bonafide customer I popped in, impromptu, armed with a confidence I was already wearing the correct size. How wrong was I?

Despite my claims to be a 34B, when it
came to removing my top for the tape
measure it was pretty clear that in the
case of my cups, there was definitely
no case of 'runneth over'. The bra
I wore for the fitting is (or was)
one of my favourites, all pretty
and pink, yet also one of my
most frustrating for the fact
that I never quite seemed
to be able to fill the thing,
no matter how much I
re- adjusted the straps
and maneuvered
my bust.

Now, I finally know why. Following the fitting, I understand that the problem wasn't that I was wearing a bra too big for my breasts, but that said bra was in fact too big for my back, meaning that it would also push forward at the front. 'Ok', I thought, 'so I'm a 32B?'

Wrong again. When hooked into a 32B, I have to say I looked more buxom than I ever have in my life - but not in a good way. In fact, looking down it appeared as if I had four breasts - two in the bra, two trying to escape - never a good look.

By contrast, when it came to hooking myself into the the 32C, I swear nothing has ever felt so right. Apparently, decreasing the back size often creates an increase in cup - it's this type of tip that shows it pays to ask the experts.

The idea of whipping off your top and being sized up by a stranger can be daunting to some but, after my first hand experience, I'm definitely a convert to the experience. Our expert fitter completely put me at ease and, most important of all, I am now aware of the following:

All my 34B bras tend to have a one inch gap between those two little bits of underwiring that pop up at the cleavage point. In the 32C, they sit literally side by side. In my 34Bs I have to opt for the last hook just to get them to feel snug, while the 32C I can easily wear on the first. And, finally, the underwiring on a 34B stops about an inch away from the underneath of my arm, the 32C sits directly beneath.

These may sound like quite simple alterations but, if I've learnt one thing today it's that, when it comes to our bras, the smallest thing can make the biggest difference. Oh and also that my 'small things' are quite a bit bigger after all...

Found your perfect fit? You'll need to update your lingerie drawer.

Do you love a balcony bra? Have you been advised to opt for a fit designed for the fuller bust?
